Lost on Deck 6

Somehow, you've ended up on deck six. But you didn't realize this until you had gotten far away from the turbolift you'd used, so now you're aimlessly searching for another. You could ask the computer, but why bother? You've got to learn your way around one way or another, right? Up ahead you see an open storage locker. Wondering why its open, and figuring you'd close it, you peer in. You see the strangest thing... A dark green disk, about a foot in diameter and three, maybe four, inches high sits there, plugged into a ODN/EPS port at the back of the locker. Suddenly, a display screen opens on the top, hinged at the back. It barely has room, but it snaps into place and activates.

It shows a medium blue background. From one side, a white woman with black hair and brown eyes enters wearing a black sleeveless top and gray jeans. She approached the screen so her upper half can be seen. Her arms had been clasped behind her, but she wrapped them around her middle as she came to a stop. "Can I help you?" she asked. She seemed slightly annoyed at being stared at, but the image's face was impassive.

You explain that you're a little lost; that you'd been trying to find your quarters.

The image gets a bit of a smirk, the corner of her lip rising. "I see. You must be the new one." Her smirk becomes a soft smile. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rho. My job title is Captain's Assistant, but I'll help anyone who asks me. If you don't mind backing up a bit?"

You figure out what she means, backing away from the locker. Rho disconnects herself from the wall and floats out into the corridor.

The screen stays up, the image continuing to speak. "You inadvertently looked into my closet. Captain Callen gave it to me as a place to rest and recharge. My "quarters" if you will. If you'll follow me, I'll lead you to a turbolift. After that, the computer can guide you to your quarters. They should be on deck seven." She started slowly down the corridor, flying backwards. "Yes, I am a robot, much as I dislike the term. I came here because I learned I could be of help to Captain Callen and the Isannah's crew. One of these days I hope I can go with them on an away mission. Just have to wait until it's needed, I suppose."

You ask her about her form, knowing humanoid robots, androids, had been built in the past.

"One of these days I'll have a humanoid body, and from then on I'll be an android, not a robot. Kinda a long story. I'll give you the details someday." She came to a stop. "Here's your ride. Good luck finding your quarters. And remember that if you need something, I'm almost always available. See you later." With that, Rho's display shut down and swung closed, the disk jetted off back down the corridor, heading back to her shelf.
